In 1985, guided by their dream to educate women and transform them into empowered individuals, who can lead their lives with dignity, the visionaries of Punjab Association founded Anna Adarsh College for Women. From a modest beginning of 300 students, 17 staff and eight departments, today with 4000 students, around 200 faculty members, 25 departments, and 10 certificate and add-on courses, we have come a long way. Throughout this journey, what has been guiding us is our passionate commitment to the cause of women’s education. We firmly believe education is the backbone of our progress and learned women are an indispensable asset to society. In this voyage we have always been careful to change ourselves with the times. By introducing new courses, research departments, a placement cell and various clubs for extra-curricular activities, we have spared no effort to provide our students with the best. Anna Adarsh College does not follow a system of education that is focused only on examinations, but believes in the concept of value-based and holistic education that can instil leadership and entrepreneurial qualities in students at the same time facilitating their over-all growth. When we impart knowledge to students we are particular that we do it in a learner-centered atmosphere. We want the students to develop the strong conviction that in all their efforts, the college will provide them with the support that they need. Guided by these ideals, when we move forward, we have the dream of making Anna Adarsh College one of the pioneer institutions in the field of education, where every student experiences a sense of belonging and where everyone feels she can have an all-round development of her personality. We want our students to reach great heights in life so that they will be able to touch the lives of hundreds of people around them. In all our endeavours, our strengths have been an ever-supportive management, a dedicated and enthusiastic team of faculty and our well-wishers from all walks of life. All these years, our main source of inspiration has been our vivacious students; full of vigour and zest. In this great journey forward, people may change, subjects may change; but we are sure that we will pass on an outstanding legacy that generations to come can be proud of and would cherish forever.
